Chris had been wondering the grounds, watching the students as they went about their daily routines. He broke up a fight or two, but mostly observed. Finally, his wanderings had brought him to the edge of the forest. He figured that this was far enough for him to walk, and he should head back, but a sound from behind startled him. His first thought was a student with a class question, but saw an adult coming towards the woods. Chris sidestepped to get out of the way, for the person was walking rapidly, but soon blushed and hid behind a boulder. It was the headmistress. What must she think if she saw me randomly wandering this far from the grounds?!?
He peeked from his hiding spot and saw her dragging a young Slytherin girl along. That girl, she's in my class! Hm...she must have done something bad to upset Sive like this. Chris's eyes suddenly widened with horror. What in the world did I just say?!? I just called my boss by her first name! Why would I do that? He watched her walk away with her air of command and found himself smiling, grinning even. Yes, that's it: Grinning like a boy with a crush. "A crush?!?" He said out loud. He immediately clamped his hand over his mouth and hid again.
He waited a few minutes then reemerged from his hiding place. The headmistress didn't notice Chris's voice and continued to go into the woods. "This is ridiculous. You don't like her." He watched her shrink farther and farther into the distance and his heart sank. "Ok. Maybe a little...but it doesn't mean anything has to happen. Right! I work for her. Showing any feelings for her would be WAY TOO inappropriate." He tried to put on a smile and began the long trek back to the castle.
